Tap’dNY Tops New York Sales

March 4th, 2009

It’s true, Tap’dNY does have the highest sales figure in all of New York. But not in terms of profit (not yet anyway, we’re still the little guy). We’re proud to announce that not only is Tap’dNY now on sale at the gift shop at the top of the Empire State Building (that’s the highest store in the state by our calculations), we’re even on the top shelf in the fridge! What can we say? Another feather in the cap of the local guy.

Is Tap’d NY Tourists New Favorite Souvenir?

February 2nd, 2009

It’d be hard to say, and lord knows it’s not what we were shooting for—Tap’dNY is New York’s finest bottled water, made for and by proud New Yorkers eager to support their own community instead of shipping their dollars abroad—but the numbers are undeniable. Vendors in and around major tourist destinations who carry Tap’dNY, report selling it at a rate of nearly three times that of our competitors. Now the only question is, are they buying it cause they’re thirsty, or to give friends back home a taste of what they’re missing?

Keep The Bottle

January 20th, 2009

Tap’dNY is proud to announce that, in our continued effort to do right by the world, we’ve teamed up with Instructables, the world’s largest community of DIYers, to figure out fun and smart uses for empty water bottles. Why’s that? Because “reuse” is an even more eco-friendly word than “recycle.” Got an idea worth exploring? Pop over to Instructables to upload it. If it catches our eye, or tickles the fancy of the Instructable community, it might just win you a prize!

December 14th, 2008

Tap’d launches a series of local pairings, matching up great local eats with New York’s finest drink! For our first outing Dogmatic Resturant (home of a unique and locally sourced gourmet sausage system) played host to 30 local-minded souls. Everyone came with an open mind and left with a full stomach, some food for thought, and without spending a penny thanks to our generous sponsors! Want to come to the next one? The list is filling up fast. Check out Locally Tap’d for more.

Tap’d Breaks It’s Cherry… With Virgin!

November 5th, 2008

Richard Branson, maverick marketer, madman and genius, has invited us into his kingdom. Well, allowed us to dip our toe anyway. As of yesterday, Tap’d can be found in the Virgin Cafe cooler in Union Square; the first mega-store to take a risk on the local boys. We couldn’t be prouder.

How Pure Is Non-Tap?

October 29th, 2008

ABC asks the question, with bottled water coming up less pure than the underdog tap, should bottles wear labels disclosing contaminants? That might be a problem for some. Not us though, we start with the good stuff and we’re happy to be honest about it.

Is Colbert Scared of Competition?

October 24th, 2008

Some time back our favorite TV hots claimed he’d created the finest tap water in a bottle, something he was calling Aqua Colbert. Seeing as truth is his thing, we figured it was time to give him a taste of the real-deal. We wrote. We called. We even distributed bottles to everyone on line for his show and hand delivered poster shown above. Still nothing. What’s the matter? Is the “Eagles Nest” too proud to eat a little crow? Whenever you’re ready Stephen, we’ve got the perfect drink to wash it down with.
